Jessica Lee Dougherty and Brock Danial Swisher were united in marriage on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa. The Rev. Brian Danner celebrated the ceremony. A lakefront reception was held following the ceremony at the Inn at Okoboji.   The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Nadine Dougherty of Page, NE.  The groom is the son of Kelly Swisher and Patrick Behrendt of Harlan, IA and James Swisher of Harlan, IA. 

The maid of honor was Leaha Dougherty of Seattle, WA, sister of the bride. Also attending the bride were Tara Dougherty-Kutschara of Eagle, NE; Jen Easter of Clive, IA; Melissa Hurley of Palm Bay, FL and Brandie Rainboth of Spearfish, SD. Personal Attendant was Mary Dougherty, sister-in-law of the bride, of Plainview, NE.   

The best man was Kyle Murtaugh, best friend of the groom, of Omaha. Groomsmen were Brandon Swisher of Avoca, IA; Brent Swisher of Avoca, IA; Dan Erickson of Ames, IA and Andy Chamberlain of Denver, CO.    

The bride graduated from The University of South Dakota and is currently working on her master’s degree from Bellevue University.  Jessica is employed as the Youth Prevention Specialist for the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska in Omaha. The groom is currently working on his degree in Construction Management.  Brock is employed by Western Construction Group, Inc. The couple will make their home in Omaha.

 


St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill was the setting for the September 12, 2009 wedding of Charissa Pavel and Jeremy Sladek both of Chambers.  Father Jeff Lorig officiated. 

Parents of the couple are Ed and Cathy Pavel and Ed and Karen Sladek all of Chambers.

Grandparents of the bride are Geraldine Babl, O’Neill and E.A. (Izzy) Pavel, O’Neill.  Grandparents of the groom are Raymond and Ruby Mann, Kirk, CO.

The matron of honor was Megan Carson, Lincoln.  Bridesmaids were Jenna Sladek, Norfolk; Ida VanDeWall, Lincoln; Jamie Wineteer, Omaha and Kristi Stairs, Fremont. 

The best man was Troy Wagner, Creighton.  The groomsmen were Brady Pavel, Lincoln; Jon Sladek, Chambers; Jason Sladek, Hamilton, MT and Tim Wiese, Lindsey.  Ushers were Brant Pavel, Chambers; Will Ponce, Kansas City, KS and Ben Dankert, Norfolk. 

The flower girl was Scarlett Babl, Norfolk.  The ring bearer was Cooper Pokorny, Bartlett.

The bride’s personal attendants were Meredith Davis, Omaha; Emily Sladek, Hamilton, MT, and Brooke Ponce, Kansas City, KS.

Candle lighters were Zachary Pavel, O’Neill and Jeremy Hubel, Chambers.

A reception and dance was held at the Chambers Fire Hall in Chambers.  Host Couples were Mike and Linda Hubel, Chambers and Mike and Diane Stanton, Ewing.

After a honeymoon in Jamaica the couple is making their home in rural Chambers


Richard & Deb Walnofer of O'Neill, NE are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Emily Francis Walnofer to Aaron Allen Traxler on November 7th 2009 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.    Emily is a 2008 graduate of University of Nebraska at Kearney where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.  She currently resides in Minnesota and is employed with a medical device company.    Aaron is the son of Keith and Karen Traxler of Chaska, MN.  He is a 2008 graduate of North Dakota State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design with an emphasis in Landscape Architecture and currently owns his own landscape company.

Parents of the couple are Jolene Emme of O'Neill, Bryan Thurlow of Norfolk. Joe Wedige of Atkinson, and John and Janice Peregouy of Coleridge.
 
The maid of honor was Andrea Johnson of O'Neill. Matron of Honor was Cammie Cuhel of O'Neill. Bridesmaids were Stacy Anson and Pam Winer of Atkinson, Jennifer Metschke of Chambers and Jani Wedige of Coleridge. Flower girls were Kayton Wedige and Baylea Conato.
 
  Best man was Robbie Gartner of Chambers. Groomsmen were Doug Homes, Tom Boardman and Pat George of O'Neill, Jerid Wedige of Lincoln, and Marlin Metschke of Chambers. Ringbearer was Asher Wedige. Ushers were Leroy Cuhel, Troy Hoffman and Chris Clyde of O'Neill.

Following the wedding, a reception and dance was held at the Hideaway. After a honeymoon trip to Orlando, Florida, the couple are making their home in O'Neill.


On July 24th 2009, Kami Kim Wettlaufer and Chase Steven Manstedt were
married on the Wettlaufer farm, near Page, Nebraska. The bride's aunt,
Reverend Birgetta French, officiated the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Randy and Kirsten Wettlaufer of Page and Steve
and Donna Manstedt of Wahoo.
Grandfather of the bride is Carroll French of O’Neill and Grandmother of
the groom is Elva Manstedt of Wahoo.
The maids of honor were Beth Kitchens and Kami Bollwitt both of O'Neill.
The personal attendant was Nichole Hraban from Wahoo.
The groom's brother, Reed Manstedt, was the groom’s best man and his
cousin, Jordan Larsen, was the groomsman.
The bride's niece, Kimberly Wettlaufer, and the groom's cousin, Josephine
Bartek, were the flower girls.  The bride's nephew, Hunter Wettlaufer, was
the ring bearer.  The wedding reception took place at Woodcliff Community Center in Fremont the following day. The couple resides in Omaha and will be taking their honeymoon in December to Riviera, Maya Mexico.

The bride is the daughter of Kirk and Barb Shane of Atkinson.  She is a 2002 graduate of West Holt High School in Atkinson, NE.  She is currently employed at WunderRosa Winery in Roca, NE.  The groom is the son of John and Lynn Mundorf of Mullen, NE.  He is a 2001 graduate of Mullen High School in Mullen, NE.  He is currently working on the his families ranch in Cozad, NE.

The couple will be making their home in Yankton, SD, where the bride is attending Mount Marty College majoring in Biology and Radiology with a minor in Chemistry, and the groom is employed at Ehresman’s Engineering.

Countryside Christian Church in Kearney was the setting for the June 27th,2009 wedding of Julie Michelle Long and Noah John Maulsby, both of Kearney. Pastor Chad Laughrey officiated the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Randy and Joan Long of O’Neill and Steve and Lisa Maulsby of Minden. Grandparents of the bride are Kenneth VanEvery of O’Neill and Millie Long of O’Neill. Grandmother of the groom is Janet Abbott of Unionville, MO.  Christy (Long) Hostert was the bride’s honor attendant. Bridesmaids included Kristin Shields, Kirsti (Prouty) Nauenburg, Sheena Rader, Molly Johnson and Sarah Maulsby. Taylor Hostert and Kaytee Hostert were the flower girls. The bride’s personal attendant was Whitney Schwenka.  Taylor Maulsby was the groom’s honor attendant. Parents of the couple are Mark and Ruth Hawk of Elkhorn and Dennis and Mary McKillip of Clearwater.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Orchard High School and 2008 graduate of Wayne State College with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science and psychology. She is pursuing a physical therapist assistant degree at Northeast Community College and is currently employed by McNally Law Office in Neligh.

Her fiancé is a 2001 graduate of Clearwater High School. He is engaged in farming with his father and grandfather outside of Clearwater.
