26 persons applied for the job, after hearing the ad on KBRX AM-FM, on the NBA Job Bank, the Holt County Independent, and letters sent to above organizations. Applicants were interviewed and told what the job involved. Some withdrew their application when they heard what the job involved. Hired for the job was Shana Parks.
KBRX AM-FM provides a summer internship in cooperation with the Nebraska Broadcasters Association. Kelsey Kallhoff a freshman at Morningside College was the student in the summer of 2008. She announced an on air shift, wrote copy and did production.
KBRX AM-FM also cooperates with the Rotary Shadowing Program and 2 juniors shadowed Scott Poese and Michael Wiiest.
KBRX AM-FM also broadcasts 2 announcements weekly asking for applications of persons interested in a radio career.
